"good product but it could do with intersection after you have etered the street name like my previous sat nav (becker )also some towns it does seem to want you to put in but on the whole its good unit and a good price"

"i bought the gps the following day but after 6 hrs the gadget became faulty. i was not impressed. went straight back to store to complain. the store changed the item without argument and it works great. looking forward to taking it to spain soon. my hotels are already set in my favourites.

"Product came in working order but took four and a half hours to update by Garmin on the Internet (High Speed Processor System)
Some of the operating system is difficult to master as is the screen operation. This is my second Garmin and was purchased because of its capacity for upgrade and the Europe facility as we are driving to Eire in the Spring.
I doubt I would puchase a Garmin again, it is too complicated."

"advised well by halfords staff. this sat nav was very user friendly, fitted by halfords staff and away we went. very precise narration and very clear direction maps. cannot wait to go further afield again and be taken straight to the door."

"This product was used in UK and France. Whilst it was very helpful, some of it's instructions were very confusing i.e. telling me to turn right and then immediately telling me that it was recalculating. It takes some getting used to."

"While not having all the features of a higher spec model, it does exactly what I want, gets me to the right place with clear, easy to follow directions. The set up is also easy to use and even an ancient like me found it no problem. The main complaint I have to make is that it would have helped if the instruction sheet, having told me how to switch it on ON, had then told me how to switch it OFF again! (Picky I know.)"

Gets you to the destination without problem throughout Europe.

Bottom line:
If you primary concern is about finding your destination in Europe and you are on a budget this is a good choice for you. If you are a driving professional or just like your stuff fully loaded/featured then you probably should pay more money to get routing algorithms that avoid current live traffic congestion and other such dazzling features.

Pros: fast satellite reaquatition., give grid ref. for position., fast re-routing, w.y.s.i.w.y.g. unlike other sat-navs.
"This is the European edition of the Garmin Nuvi 205 which I also own and used regularly but now updated to the 255.
My wife and I have a habit of changing our route halfway through the drive, the Garmin keeps pace and keeps you informed smoothly, giving an alternative route to get you back on track.
There are a number of worthwhile programmes built into the Garmin, one is called "EcoRoute" which allows you to keep track on your fuel costs and even allows you to take a driving challenge over your requested route for you to see how you are driving, i.e. accelerating/decelerating smoothly and maintaining a constant speed, in other words ecconomical driving.
There is a very effective speed camera system pre-installed which can be updated at the end of the 30 day free trial, well worth updating to keep on top of cameras (mobile carmera warning areas also given).
All in all this is a very good piece of equipment, reliable and efficient with a fast satellite aquitition.
The unit is updatable via the optional USB cable."

"This was my first sat nav for use in France and the u.k. I found it easy to use and set-up myself with the on-screen instructions on start-up.Obviously I cannot compare it to other sat navs but this seems to be a good all-rounder , the screen is bright and clear ,written and verbal instructions are easy to follow and programming in postcodes and addresses is relatively simple (even to a non-technically minded person like me.) Would recommend!"

"This satnav is excellent value for money. Its simple to use, even for those who are not technical minded. The screen is a good size. Destinations can be stored easily for future use. It warns you of speed limits & forthcoming speed cameras. The directions are clear & audiable. I used this satnav when I travelled to France & although I made some mistakes the satnav soon recalculated my route. This is one satnav that I would most definately recommend."
