Pros: great suspension, brakes work well, soft handlebar grips
"Good quality bike, very decent price for what you get and has a good set of components. Front and rear suspension both work very well and the disc brakes are more than good."

Pros: value for spec
Cons: not easy to adjust brakes
"This bike was bought as a repacement for a Giant Boulder mountain bike and i can say is very very good for the money. Firstly purchasing online to collect in store saved me £30 which made it great value, plus a safety check and promise of another after 3 weeks for free to check after riding. Brilliant! Have to say, dont be too hasty about changing brakes unless you know what you are doing, had to take it back for adjusting by friendly staff after moving the disc brake set 1mm to the left to stop a squeaking as the plastic component of the brake was rubbing, just let the well knowledgable Halford staff do the work if it needs doing, they're always a great help!"

Pros: price, general build
Cons: regular maintenance required
"After having this bike for almost a year now, and after reading other reviews, the problems generally are either Disc brakes, gears or both.
My experiences are the chain/gears are prone to slip from the rear sprockets (ghosting) when changing up or down, and that the disc brakes do squeal/drag especially the front most of the time. Adjustments do get these problems sorted, and you must bear in mind that pretty much everything on a bike needs periodic adjustments as cables etc. stretch therefore attracting play which will in turn affect the Gear/brake movements. That aside, for the
rest of the bike, it is generally very good for the price, a little heavy, and was never meant to be a true off roader, but basically a leisure activity bike that will be more than happy to be on a road or light trails.

"lets get started with this, first outing lasted 10 seconds when not one but both brakes failed, took 30 mins to rectify however the brake pads last about 5 minutes if you are lucky as they are extremely small, the discs get burned due to the severe heat produced by the brakes even when you are riding normally on a road, a year later and the brakes are still hit and miss one day they work the next they should be illegal to use
even constant maintenance on the brakes still leaves them sticking.
the chain seems to like to jump off the back cassette even when the derailleur is perfectly lined up with the gears this led to me replacing an entire side of spokes when it came off on the road and jammed in between the sprocket and the wheel.
watchout for the little plastic circle just below the riser for the handlebars if this breaks the steering becomes extremely loose and seeming that no where sells this part you will have to do what i did and make one out of metal.
beware of changing the gears quickly as the sprockets are o f low quality and the teeth snap off easily.
basically this is sold as a mountain bike but it cannot even handle light off roading,
the bike itself weighs 25 kilos so its not light neither.
you are best off to spend an extra £130 and get the saracen raw 08 it is a proper off road bike, all this one will do is give you constant issues if you use everyday."

Pros: light weight, comfortable ride, great value, sturdy frame
Cons: brakes stick
"Got to say this is a great all round bike. Only issue is with the disk brakes. They do seem to stick a little. But maybe this is something that will wear down. Good solid frame, and suspension adds to the ride comfort. Taking it to Wales to try it out properly, but not expecting any issues, unless i manage to fall off!!! Well worth the money. Ignore anything cheaper, spend the little bit extra and get a great bike."

Pros: value for money, smooth gear change
Cons: plastic chain guard
"Have ridden the bike a little and it seems like a good bike, gear change smooth and new disc brakes seem ok too. Only downside is the very flimsy platic chain guard. A metal one would have only cost a couple of pence to add on and saved braking the plastic one (as I have). Anyway, apart from that I think it is a good buy for the money."

Pros: value for money
Cons: low gearing
"I bought this bike as an entry level in mountain biking after being advised it was better than the trax bikes. The bike is generally good value for the money but the chain has come out of the sprocket cage at the back a couple of times now after only a few trips around the forest & it has bent the sprockets out of line & will need to go back to be repaired. Gearing is also quite low so you can't get a huge speed up in top gear."

Pros: good value, disc brakes front and rear, shimano gears
Cons: not exactly light, halfords are a nightmare to buy from
"This is a good bike for £190, not sure where they got the £420 original price from I wouldn't say it's worth that much.
It's not as light as I'd hoped it would be and the rear suspension doesn't have much travel but apart from that it is a good bike suitable for the semi rough. The brakes are good, once they've been sorted out and the gear range is ok. If you're into real off roading this isn't the bike for you but if you're looking for something that wont cost you the Earth for tracks and trails you can do a lot worse than this bike.

"For the price, this was a great purchase! The frame isn't too heavy and the suspension is OK too. For rides across the countryside this is a sound choice, although obviously I wouldn't put it through too much punishment - for that you need a Stumpjumper (my weekend ride!)"

"It is a brilliant bike apart from the seat. I can,t ride as far as I would like as it is so uncomfortable. The disc brakes tend to bind
some what so you don,t freewheel down any hills as I have in the past but, am unsure if its
just because it is still quite new. Overall Though it is a good bike.

"I bought this for my husband who usually goes through bikes at a high rate of notts because he is of a muscular build and heavy for most frames. He loves this bike and has an extension attached to tow out 3 year old (and build up his legs). A great addition to a family of cyclists, and it looks really cool as well."

Pros: value for money, solid build
"I bought this bike given that it was my first bike purchase for a while (over a decade) and I wanted a good value for money bike that didn't stretch the pursestrings and I haven't been disappointed. Good build quality for the price and has been a lot of fun to ride."
