"i got this bike in the sale, the first time a sat on it in the shop it felt good and well put together so the next day i bought it ,the parts that you get am getting on this bike are the same as the £500 plus bikes the only thing i changed on this bike was the seat because i have a big bum ha ha ,and the forks which was only because i wanted lockout and now i have a really good bike its a very comfy ride and i am 24 st man so i know its a very strong bike there have been a little things go wrong like gears slipping but nothing major halfords sorted it out for me so my advise is buy buy buy thanks"

"This bike is amazing. handles getting me to work on mormal roads really well the ride is so smooth and its fun to ride. Handles off road like a dream,down hill,mud, streams, jumps, drop off's this thing takes the lot with ease. the brakes are brilliant in wet or dry. cant wait to ride it off road again. BRILLIANT value for money"

"I rated this bike very high because I think it is great value for the money. I bought it at a sale price of £249 including assembly. It was ready on the day and I rode it home.
It has a good gear range and the brakes are capable of locking the wheels. A bit heavy, but if you want the light weight frame, add a £1000.
Given what I paid, if someone nicks it, I will not be devastated.
A sharp colour scheme (red/ black trim) as well."

"bike itself is not too bad at all had a few teething problems at first with gears and other little bits but they were soon sorted
it rides particularly well i find the bike rides better in wet and muddy conditions than it does on dry days

"The bike is great. I'm not the smallest person as I weight trian but this bike feels really strong and is comfortable to ride. The use of gears is easy and changes extremely well. I am pleased with it on the rough and is also good on the roads. Great all round bike."

"For the price (paid £269) this is unbeatable value for money.
Bought this as my 'commuter' bike, switched the knobblies for some slicks and its fantastic.
Only one negative so far - the stock disc pads dont work very well in the wet, I'll be changing mine for some sintered pads in the near future"

"This is my 3rd Carrera, the 1st was stolen after 3 months, the 2nd bike broke after 19 months, the frame weld came apart after the guarantee ended.
However, for the money these bikes are good value, good high specification on gear and disc brakes.
The cost is less than 3 months travelling to work on the tube."

"The bikes overall performance has been good, it has been taken on on some demanding downhill single track, I have broken the front gear selector twice. this has been replaced under the warranty. I have a friend with the same bike he has had no such problem, it may be that i was a little too forceful with it, all in all this bike is very good value for money."

"The specification of this Carrera range bike is similar to much more expensive top name machines. However, for an occasional use on dirt tracks and gentle off road, it does everything it is supposed to without any great flaws. For the price, an execelent starter mtb."

Pros: cycling home drunk and not getting points, high mpg unlike mondeo turbo diesel, good service intervals
Cons: it can be difficult to select the perfect gear, often quite sluggish up hills, would benefit from double disk up front
"First things first, this bike is rapid! so slick through the gears, excellent braking from 30 - 0, with little to no fade on the brakes, the ultra sticky tyres allow for good lean angles in the corners, not too heavy if you have to carry it home after getting a puncture, take my advice and always carry a spare wheel, these bike also have a good service interval, unlike my turbo diesel mondeo, I seem to be forever changing the oil, but it has been a reliable car so I have no favourite between the car and bike, the only fault the bike has is that there isn't much room for the weekly shop, it's not bad though for me because I give my mate a backie and he holds the tesco bags, best of all though you can get like mega leathered in the boozer an cycle home which is quality in my opinion, whilst wearing a helmet of course,"

"This is a really good bike and really good value for money. This is the second Carrera I have bought and I am relly pleased with it. The forks are a bit spongy but there still good. All in all I think this is very high quality bike and would recommend it to anyone.
