Pros: very quick sat detection, easy to use, fantastic camera alerts
"Was upgraded to the 250 after the 200 was out of stock so gained the european maps for an extra fiver. The sat nav itself is perfect, I was using a PDA sat nav prior to this. It finds sats almost instantly. is extremely easy to use, the car mount is perfect, holds charge for hours and has very accurate maps. The icing on the cake for me is the safety camera feature, it not only warns you of upcoming cameras and the speed zone but also tells you what type ie average speed, fixed, mobile etc. 10/10"

Pros: easy to read screen, fast satellite finding, quick to find new route
"I reserved a standard Gramin Nuvi sat nav but after discussing with friendly sales staff i upgraded to version that included traffic updates and european maps. This is a great sat nav with many more features than i expected for price!! It is very user friendly and the traffic update feature is excellent. I would recommend this sat nav, i have used friends Tom Tom and the garmin is far superior and much better value for money."

"The screen is clear and reactive, giving good movement in zoom. You can actually hear the voice messages over the engine(!) and the speed camera warnings are very useful, even if you are not actually using navigation."

"The Garmin Nuvi 200 Sat Nav is easy to install in your car an is easy to use with up to the minute road updates. It also tells you when you are going over a speed limit - national or neighbourhood. You can search by road names, well known buildings and attractions, etc. (including hospitals) and you can add favourites to your Sat Nav. You can also use if walking. I would recommend the Garmin Nuvi 200 Sat Nav to anyone who asks about it."

"I bought this 5 days ago and all I was looking for was an entry level SatNav but this has by far exceeded my expectations.
I would have been lost without this little beauty and not only does it give great directions is quickly calculates another route should you hit a detour or traffic-jam. I call it my darling as I have a hopeless sense of direction and navigation but this beauty makes travel so easy and enjoyable.
It picks up a signal within seconds and is ready to go - shops, postcode, city - any search you put in or even viewing and moving the map around and you can click on any part of the map and get instant directions. Pre-loaded with UK and ROI maps but you can easily update those with the SD slot. You can also download new voices and car icons should you so wish.
Trip information is great too with journey time, stopped time, ETA, max speed and distance travelled and to be travelled.
I highly recommend this product!"

"I bought this in January 2008 after looking at reviews for another brand of satnav. Ideally I wanted a tomtom but they were just over my budget. I was going to buy a my guide but the assistant put me off and recommended the nuvi. The salesman wasn't pushy and explained that the nuvi was good value for money for a basic unit. I have had this for over a year now and have used it many times. You have to remember when using a satnav that you still need to read road signs as well and when it says keep right on a motorway it doesn't mean you have to be in the outside lane. It means do not keep on the left side of the motorway especially if there are 4 lanes and the motorway comes to a fork. You soon get used to it. Re-directs quick if you make wrong turn. It only got me into a field once and this was because there was a kink in the road on a back road in lincolnshire and the sat nav thought it was a right then a left turn ha ha. Bear in mind that up to 20 or 30 houses may have the same post code so it will get you close but sometimes not exact. Perfect for business address though and saved me some time when going to leeds bradford airport by taking me on a shortcut. Overall a very good unit with far better battery life than a tomtom which is about 4/5 hours on mine. Goodies available to download from garmin website but if you use a camera lead to connect it to your pc your may have to cut a bit of the black plastic insulation off the lead so it goes right into the garmin unit. Cheap camera lead possibly. Funny voices available from other sites too and unit has a slot for an SD card for expansion and photos. Shows speed too and is accurate. Best rating on gadget show for budget unit at beginning of 2008. Highly recommended. My wife and daughter have used it with no problems and can find tesco's and asda without my help!!! Wouldn't be without it, one of the best gadgets I ever bought for £100 and would buy the same again. The guy who gave a duff report must have been unlucky"

"After returning a faulty Garmin StreetPilot i510 which was bought in a very good discount price apart from that I was very pleased its performance so I gave another try and chose this Nuvi200 which recommended by Halford, so far I am very happy with this little gem's performance, very fast getting the GPS signal even indoor ( my old Navman takes age to get GPS signal ) and if you did a wrong turn, it took a very short time to give you an alter , even faster than TomTom One used before. It has few minus points: sometimes I was bit confused by its turn-by-turn voice guide ( eg. it told the turn action too late when you approached the turn and drove a little bit fast ). The size of the charger adapter is too big it will trap your finger if you try to change gear ( depend on the position of you cigar lighter, mine is close to the gear stick ).The reliablity ( my main concern ) is too early to say, at the time being, I give it 5*"
