Pros: looks good, low weight, comfy saddle, value
Cons: rust on shiny bits

"I'm really happy with the bike considering the price. I use it to commute about 8 miles, 3 days a week, and in over a year I've had no problems and overtaken a lot of other cyclists. One puncture thanks to a big nail. Only obvious sign of cost cutting to the non-expert is the shiny metal bits (eg. tubes on gear cables) which started going rusty fairly early on. But at this price I couldn't find any other decent looking bikes with 26" wheels and road tyres. Recommended to those on a budget."

Pros: good value for money, responsive frame
Cons: gearing

"As a first step in to the better quality Carrera range of bikes this is a pretty good ride.

The frame is responsive, without being twitchy but still managed to be stable on long fast descents. The gearing covers a range wide enough to climb everything except the Eiger, although the reduced number of gears mean that there are some quite wide gaps between some, leaving you stuck in not-quite-the-right gear sometimes. Brakes are plenty powerful enough, tyres are very resilient against punctures.

My only concern is that the Sachs chainwheel, chain and freewheel are very worn after 6 months and 2000 miles and really need replacement. This is possibly due to the sand on the back lanes on my 20-mile commute, but makes me wonder if it's not up to the job. Still, I'd buy another, good value for money all-round."
