"I bought one of these for my first child 2 years ago, it is reliable, safe, comfortable and easy to install.
My son loves it and I have complete peace of mind when he is sat in it on short and long distance journeys.

"Bought this for my 1yr old son and I love it. The seat fabric looks and feels really high quality, great head/side support seems to be very effective when little one falls asleep, harness is easy to do/undo and shoulder pads are properly padded. Had Maxi Cosi Cabrio as a first car seat and shoulder pads on it are absolute joke."

"This seat looks amazing and is amazing! My daughter loves her seat she even can sleep in it, however she looks like she is uncomfortable sometimes, I think its just because it is that padded (which is a good thing).
The only downside of this seat is that when you want to lie the seat back it doesnt go back very easily especially with a 2 year old sat in it. I can never manage to do it."

"I bought this for my 9 month old son and it instantly fell asleep in it! This is my second Young Sport as my 3 year old also has one. We decided to buy this as Recaro are the producer of seats used in pretty much all motor racing so if they are safe enough for that then they will definitely be safe in a normal car. Easy to fit and great quality can't recommend highly enough"

"This is the 2nd recaro young sport we have purchased as the 1st one was excellent. this is still a fantastic product however it feels a little well made. the old version had a metal clip to keep the child in and it beeped once undone. this version has a plastic clip and does not beep.
Still a product i would recommend as it is very comfy for little one."

Pros: the stylish good looks and safety features
Cons: the fiddly fastening on the harness
"I already had two car seas installed for my grandaughters,but they were over 3 years old,and the harness clasps were getting a bit hard to fasten sometimes,and although they were to fit up to 12 years,they were both a bit basic,so I decided to splash out on two of these for my grandaughters,as they were recommended to me,and looked very stylish and comfortable.Halfords staff could not have been more helpful or professional when showing me how to fit them,and when watching me fit them myself,and did so until they were confident I knew how to fit them correctly.My heart did sink though, when I saw the harness could only be tightened on their shoulders by pulling it hard at the bottom,under the seat,,like a baby car seat,I expected the harness straps would be altered,and tightened individually,I suffer from arthritis in my hands,and have several replacement knuckles,and thumb,so I find it very hard to pull on the bottom harness strap to tighten it,also,the bottom of the two harness straps which click into the bottom clasp buckle is like a baby car sea clip,,and one half fits over the other half,like a jigsaw,and you have to hold it absolutely still,and steady,and warn the occupant NOT to move a muscle,until you hold them steady enough and straight enough to engage into the bottom buckle,it took me over a week until I got the hang of it,it was especially frustrating when we were late on the school run,and I had two young children to strap in,I was actually collapsing with relief when they were finally fastened!After saying all that,I must admit I do feel they are both very safe in them,although they do look a bit scrunched up in them,and they are both tiny,and only aged two and three,Im not sure they wil last until they are twelve,but it does state they will.To be honest,if I had known how fiddly they were to fasten,I wouldnt have bought them,that said,they will not be in a harness for too long,and I think they will be a lot easier to fasten in when they are both using a seat belt,instead of a harness,and I do possibly find the harness hard to manage as I do have poor dexterity due to rhuematoid and osteoarthritis,that said,my family say they are fiddly to fasten too,so I know its not just me."

"We haven't put the seat in the car yet but it seemed to be the only comfortable 9-36kg seat. All the others had very hard seats for little bottoms on long journeys and I wouldn't want to sit on something like them! The Recaro seat has plenty of padding and was far and away the most comfy, padded one available in the store."

"Wanted a Ricaro seat for a while & used getting a new car as an excuse for a new seat...& at the time, this was selling for a good price online.
I was a bit concerned about it being a microfibre seat as i thought it would pick up dirt & looks a bit strange, however it doesn't & it actually cleans well with a baby wipe if food gets spilt on it.
It is a really sturdy fit in the seat & doesn't move around at all.
At 1st, my 14mth old daughter seemed really scrunched up in it & cried loads & i wondered what was wrong, so i took it out of the car, adjusted the height & straps & it is now fine. Plenty of room. I think reading the instructions properly helped as it does say to do this & to pull the straps back when putting ur child in, but as i had it fitted in store first, i hadn't done this initially...the straps were also twisted inside the covers upon purchase so it would not do up correctly, so once i'd twisted them round the correct way, there was no longer that issue.
Occasionally struggle to do it up at the buckle...seems like there is an excess of padding inbetween the legs which stops it going in, but with a bit of practice on technique, it is fine. Not sure my daughter is too impressed when i don't do it first time though.
Overall i'd say this is a great seat once you make a few adjustments. Make sure you read the instructions and adjust it properly to the size of your child before use & it is great. Looks brill in the car! I love it. Would get another one!"

"We bought this for our two year old daughter recently after spending a lot of time researching different options.
We really liked the sturdy construction and easy to use adjusting mechanisms. The mounting system to the seat was a little looser than we were used to as it has no tensioning system but it still works well and holds it securely in place.
The wide range of adjustment means that it can be set up for almost any age and will be useful for a very long time. We wish we had saved our money and bought a Group 1,2,3 seat the first time around!
The quality is generally very good although we found that the retaining clip on the end of the strap at the front popped off a few times. I've fixed it properly now but without it it could retract into the seat body where it could be a pain to get out again.
Overall, I would highly recommend this seat to any family looking for this age range. We will certainly be buying another one for our seven month old son when he gets a tad older. That I would trust this make and model to look after the most precious things in my life says everything I need to about this seat!"

"I was looking for a non Isofix car seat with some sort of side impact protection and this one seemed to fit the bill. Reserved online and picked it up in store.
It was fitted in store and the fitting service was really exceptionally good. I am surprised that a non Isofix start can fit so well and feel so solid.
It's a nicely made seat too with decent padding for comfort and generous shoulder strap length which should allow strap use for a little longer than some seats before moving to the seatbelt fastening method.
The click lock button mechanism is fiddly and represents the only obvious problem with the seat. It's actually tricky to join the two straps together to fasten them into the bottom lock mechanism. Probably a question of practice but I have to say it is not easy.
Still, a great start which I would buy again without hesitation.
Feedback from a 4 year old is that the start is very comfortable!"
