Cons: pedals supplied not for me.
"Got this in the sale. Reservation worked well and was contacted by store - had bike inside 24 hours. It's a nice machine for the money. Did swap pedals for standard alloy cage ones as per other reviewers but otherwise, so far, very pleased with it."

"Brought as a means to get into road cycling as cross country mountain biking is a little muddy in the wintermonths. The bike is well balanced rides well and worth the bargin price!"

"I purchased the bike early December to help with commuting to work. I've ridden the bike 8 miles each day for a couple of weeks with no problem, as others have experienced, this is my first road bike and the speed I've reached was impressive. I've shaved 5 minutes off my commute to work which always helps. However, riding the bike back from work last night I noticed the front wheel was providing a bit of feedback. I understand road bikes aren't quite as durable as mountain or BMX bikes and I've not ridden it anywhere but on the roads and cycle paths that get me to work being sure to avoid any collisions. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The bike was supposed to last me a good couple of years but that fact that it's barely lasted over a month is disgusting. Shall be discussing this with Halfords further."

Pros: value for money, the paint finish, weight
Cons: maybe a little undergeared
"After years of riding both a hybrid and a mountain bike, I've finally taken the plunge and bought my first road bike. Being unsure how much I would use it, I didn't want to spend a great deal so after looking around all the usual bike shops I decided that for the price I wanted to pay and for value for money I really couldn't beat a Carrera. The price I finally got the Zelos for was amazing. After changing the stock tyres for Gatorskins, I joined my local cycling club yesterday for a 15 mile apres Christmas ride. Fellow cyclist were impressed with what they saw (some of them were on Planet X's) and even more so when I told them how much I had paid. I was very impressed with the bike and now understand why folks rave about road bikes. Just so much less effort to ride. I can see me doing miles on this. Excellent. Can't wait to get out on it again. I'll continue to use my hybrid to and from work each day - not sure I would feel so safe on the road bike in traffic. There's a tendency to want to go fast and the brakes aren't up to my hydraulic disc standard!"

"I usually cycle with my mountain bike or my bmx but i'm new to all the road bike bike stuff and i found my self flying. It usually takes me 45 minutes to cycle to school now it only takes me 28 minutes."

"I ve owned a nice road bike before, but i just got the urge again. so Took the plunge with this Carrera Zelos ltd.
Just got it home today after a call from Steve the manager on Boxing day to say its ready. Full marks to the web ordering ( & bath branch) and collect in store. Ordered 9.15pm xmas day, sat on it by 10am boxing day.
the bike looks really stylish, it rides quickly the value i think was excellent, the bike sort of looks better than it is.. but the price is very keen."

"My parents braught me this bike for christmas, its an excellent bike, but the chain and gears needes a little tweak, the ride is great and the breaks work well, the pedals seem ok, but halfords should have specified which pedals they are so i can find adiquate shoes, but overal a great bike :)"

"This is an excellent bike, I would recommend it to anyone, good gears, good brakes and very comfortable to ride also great matt black paint work. Had a couple of rattles from the brake levers but took it back to halfords and the staff were great found out it only needed a rubber washer fitted on each lever top which applies pressure on brake lever sorted rattle.Great bike."

"As being new to cycling the guys at Halfords pointed me to this bike. Very light weight and a good range of gears For uphill and on the flat and very smooth shifters. On the first ride they were out of line but on return the guys Adjusted them no problem"
