Pros: easy to use, hot swap from bike to bike, garmin connect to draw maps, bright clear screen, lots of info on the display
Cons: only basic guidence diagrams
"The Edge 200 is the entry level of this series of GPS units from Garmin but it still packs a punch. It is easy to fit, with no hook up to the front wheel to measure speed as the on-board GPS takes care of that. Also you get 2 bike mounts making swapping to another bike a breeze!
The best thing is the Garmin Connect connectivity which not only allows you to play back your recorded route, superimposed over Bing satellite maps (just like Google maps), but, even better - you can plan your route on Garmin Connect then download it to the Edge 200 and go off and ride.
If you want a full moving map then buy the Edge 800, as the turn indications on the 200 are basic. But for a high end wireless bike computer or entry level GPS device the Edge 200 is a steal."

"The garmin 200 is a very good bit of kit . I was a little worried about the fixing kit but it sit on the bike like its glued on . It's easy to use and read on the go and when you've returned home and downloaded to you PC you can see where you have been (even if you didn't have a clue on your ride !) . With its lap function you can see if you are improving ."

Pros: easy to use and well made, speed average speed ascent calories & time, upload your own routes, chase previous times
Cons: no clock
"The GPS is great. Very simple to use, you dont even really need the instructions. Its tracks your rides and then you can easily upload them to Garmin Connect to track you rides.
You can also find courses and activities other have created on the website and download them to your device and it will guide you around them. You can even set a pace/speed you want to do it in, or even use your previous ride as a target and then "chase" the previous time which is shown on a simple screen with 2 bike symbols.
The only downside is that, although it has a clock on the set up screen, once you have started the ride there is no clock displayed!?!?!
The only benefits of the next model up are things like heart monitor plug in and bluetooth connectivity to your phone for uploading the ride straight away, rather then when you next go on the computer.

Pros: accuracy, custom gps routes, easy to use, amazing value, upload ride information
Cons: no heart rate and cadence
"Can't rate this little guy highly enough! Standard ride screen has all the information you need, Current speed/ avg. speed/ ride time/ distance/cals./max speed. Instantly picks up GPS location when switched on, and is very accurate! Used this for over 150miles of cycling so far and no problems.
Attaches easily to your bike with a very easy and secure system. detaches easily when you want to remove it, but it definitely won't come off whilst cycling.
You can upload all your ride information to Garmin Connect and also the Strava App, if you are that way inclined like myself. And if you're looking to try a different route you can use the Garmin Connect system (like googlemaps) to plan your excursion, and then upload it onto the GarminEdge200. The GPS map on this device works using a line trail which you can follow. I used this the other day and it works perfectly well. Easy to follow and didn't make one wrong turn!
Battery life is very good also! The only possible downside to this device is that it isn't compatible with heart rate or cadence monitors, but if your not going to use these (like myself) it's definitely a fantastic buy if your looking for a Top quality low priced GPS for your bike."

Pros: route finding
Cons: no time on front display, halfords online reservation system
"Really impressed with this little gem. Not only is it a superb bike computer that offers really precise and accurate recording of your stats it also records your route and allows you to view it on either the garmin connect website or any other sports tracking site, Strava, endomondo etc. Being GPS you can see your route on a map.
Now the piece de resistance is that you can use this baby as a route finder, either on routes that you design and download to your device or on routes that you have previously tracked. I mapped out a complicated 40km off-road route using Bikehut's excellent mapping tool, downloaded this to the device and then followed it on my bike. Genius, no stopping to look at OS maps, it was easy and clear enough, even on complicated 5 route junctions.
Ok it doesnt have maps installed, but personally i prefer to do all my route planning in the comfort of my home, when i am on my bike i want to ride. If you want heart rate and cadence get the next Garmin up, if you want a simple GPS device then you cant go wrong with this."

Pros: live average speed reading, new easy to use design of mounting bracket, smaller design than 205, 2 mounts in box so can use on both bikes
Cons: no clock whilst in motion, can't set 2 bike profiles
"A keen road and mountain bike cyclist, I've always enjoyed keeping track of my riding and seeing how I have improved. Needed to replace my Garmin 205 so went for the new 200. Love the new bracket design (cos I kept breaking the old one) and also appreciate the 'live' average speed reading (especially useful when leading club rides).
OK doesn't do cadence and heart rate for the serious lycra legends, but if you're an average club rider, and want to record your achievements, when coupled with Garmin Connect, this is an excellent piece of kit.
Plus Halfords had it online at very competitive price."

Pros: easy to use, good value, makes cycling more enjoyable
"It took no time at all to fit and work out how to use the device. It works excellently with Strava and has added a whole new dimension to my cycling.
It picks up satellites very quickly and battery life seems to be very good.
Loading courses into it took slightly longer to work out but again it is quite intuitive to use.
I recommend this highly."

"The Edge 200 is Garmin's lowest priced GPS cycles computer but you wouldn't be able to tell this by the way it performs; it has all the features the majority of cyclists need and is simply great value for money. Ease of use is another great feature of the Edge 200, you would have no trouble setting this cycle computer up without the user manual. Also Garmin connect which is free to use is brilliant, it allows you to analyse your ride and set goals as well as courses. The Edge 200 is also really light, so those riders concerned about adding extra weight need not worry at only 58.5 grams the Garmin edge 200 is a lightweight. This cycle computer will also look great on any bike and the screen display is easy to read, even when riding at high speeds.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to take their cycling onto the next level.

Pros: ease of use, clear display, simple mount, easy to connect to computer
Cons: would have liked it to show time of day
"This really is a great little cycle computer. I purchased this one after looking at Garmin specs and realising it had all I needed. Higher spec models had more bells and whistles but at a cost. This does what I need it to do - and without fuss!
Very easy to attach to the bike and since it has GPS, it eliminates the need for the little sensors and extras needed for conventional cycle computers - and no fiddly wheel calibration. Simply click it into the mount and you're off.
Easy to upload to Garmin connect and track your rides and compare courses and keep tabs on your progress.
Be aware that this is not a navigation aid so although it has GPS, it does not tell you where you are. It assumes you know where you are but simply want to know how fast you got there. It records time taken, average speed, max speed, calories burned, elevation etc etc.
Simple courses can be downloaded to your Edge 200 but be aware that it only gives you a breadcrumb trail rather than detailed directions. You would need a rough idea of where you were going with this unit to serve as a reminder rather than a guide.
All in all, maybe slightly pricey (although Halfords do offer a really competitive price for the unit) but a great little gadget to help you track your rides."

Pros: price, simplicity
"I love the simplicity of this device - It's so easy to set up and get going. it finds your position almost immediately and produces accurate data of my rides. Granted it doesn't have the extra functions of the higher priced units but this is what attracted me to it - I was looking for a reliable and affordable GPS to replace the worry of taking my smartphone out with me on rides. The Garmin Connect software compatability is an added bonus and makes uploading and reviewing your rides so effortless. I particularly like the course mode which allows you to download a particular route and follow it whilst riding. I really cannot fault it."

"What can I say, well first of all the edge 200 does exactly what it says on the tin, yes it doesn't offer you the same range of features that its bg brother does( the edge 500) But for what I use it for it does the job nicely. All the basics are covered, eg Mph, distance, etc and the satellite fix is extremely fast.
Finally I managed to buy the little garmin from halfords at the same price as a large online retailer but with the benifit of reserving and picking it up on the same day.
Well done halfords"

"This is a fantastic bit of kit for the money...works straight out of the box. Although the features are less than the those of the more expensive Garmin Edge 500 and 800 this does everything I want it to do and more.
