Pros: waterproof, different road options, thus far 100% reliable
Cons: no charging mount, route planning software not that user friendly
"A superb addition to any motorcyclists list of accessories, probably one of the most useful things I have ever bought for the bike, allows you to explore and find new places without the inconvenience of getting lost or having to map read. The bluetooth headset is 100% reliable and relays clear and concise instructions to the user.
There are a couple of down sides, firstly the unit and software are not very intuitive when used to plan routes, it will get you there, but more by how it wants to opposed to how you would like to, and it does not come with a charging mount, why not?
All said and done, would be lost without it."

Pros: salesmen were excellent
"Sat nav was excellent but bluetooth wouldn't charge. Whole package replaced 3 times, same problem. I gave up and asked for money back"

"Tried two and returned both to Halfords as neither headsets would charge even after leaving them overnight. I am not the first to have had this problem with the Scala Headset. Halfords and Tomtom customer services were very good.

Pros: tomtom probably ok
Cons: scala rider headset non working, scala rider headset gives poor quality impression, scala rider headset did not work fully charge, very poor quality and value of the headset, will return this kit, can not recommend
"The TomTom unit appears very solid and well made while the Scala Rider Bluetooth headset in the kit did not work at all out of the box even if both units charged in accordance to instructions.
The TomTom in 2 hours of fiddling I had a total of 6 sec contact with the headset - that is 2 times 3 sec. For this the headset needed to be connected to the charger. The red charging led on the headsets is not on - supposedly the headset should be fully charged. But can not get any life into it without the charger. Holding the on button for 10 secs should switch the device on - does not. I see no other opportunity than retruning this item/kit to Halfords for a full refund. The Scala rider headset appears overall to be of poor quality and does not give an impression of being a device that could work for a long time, even if clear attempts has been made to make it waterproof. Cannot recommend. Consider TomTom alone, badly let down by the Scala Rider headset."

"TomTom is excellent, but poor quality scala headset did not work, so returned to cheltenham store over a week ago, new one still has not turned up from TomTom. Friend had same problem may be a faulty batch."

Pros: holds charge well., all features that you need
Cons: headset adds wind noise, not easily heard at high speed
"excellant product.. Makes motorcycling easier and is easy to use. i have mine on a sports bike and find the trip features and speed warnings good. navigation is perfect and headset can be heard above the roar of a noisy bike. also very good for the car if you buy the mount."
