"I recently purchased this bike for my girlfriend. As she is new to mountain bikes, she found it to be comfortable to ride and responsive enough for doing long trails. The equipment level on this model is good for the purchase price. (I bought 2012 model heavily discounted). My girlfriend was really pleased with the bike. HAPPY CYCLING"

"Was looking for a bike that would be suitable for commuting on (badly maintained) roads in all weather conditions, plus enable me to tackle the more challenging routes off road. I love this bike! The gears respond brilliantly and despite the other complaints about the seat being uncomfortable I think it's great, it's not as cumbersome or restrictive as the usual seats on ladies bikes.

"If you want to ride a single track or a bit of cross country or, of course your local roads this will more than do the job. Bought my better half one six months ago and whilst its not high end its very good for everyday and weekend use. Light for the money with a reasonable spec. To those of you only familier with Shimano gears you may not have heard of the SRAM rear setup and shifters. As someone who rides a lot and does have a high end bike I couldn't recommend SRAM enough. Quick and slick shifting , in my opinion far better than my previously favoured Shimano. SRAM is used by probably more champions than Shim these days. Otherwise great bike. My mrs loves it!"

"It has been many years since I rode my bike on a regular basis. However since having my son we go out regualy. This bike is perfect, easy, comfortable and can cope with any terrain. Brilliant"

Pros: sram gears very easy to operate, feels strong, sealed bottom bracket, very good price when on offer, nice fit for a small person 5'4" with short torso
Cons: the saddle ! like a rock.
"This is the first new bike I've had for 8 years, the previous bike, a Saracen was also purchased from Halfords and did me very well but I broke it (my fault) and ended up riding this junk I bought secondhand which was miles too big for me.
The bike feels very strong, no rattles, I love the SRAM gearing which I had on a previous bike, very precise and easy to adjust. The 16" with short top tube and cranks fits me perfectly, I tried the 18" but didn't feel as comfortable. Excellent wheels and the tyres when inflated hard work perfectly well on the road. The brakes feel good and I love the colour scheme. The suspension fork does work, I think some people expect to be boinging along like on the cheapies but that's not how a good fork works.
The only bad thing is the saddle ! It's terrible ! But I swopped it for my usual saddle and now it's perfect.
