Pros: storage case, quick and easy to deploy
Cons: need to adjust locking nuts with a spanner
"I bought one of these to recover a car back to my home garage. It was a bit fiddly to attach to the towing eye (peugeot 206) the other end to recovery point on landrover (no issues there) but once done it was connected all was fine. The instructions state not to exceed 15 MPH but the car towed fine at 50mph on a twisty country road. At slow speeds and tight corners it seemed to clunk a lot more than I would have expected.
Overall a fantastic tool, I would highly recommend one of these over a tow rope any day!"

"When ever I have towed I have always used a rope, so I was'nt sure about buying a rigid tow bar, I was more than impressed when I used it, easy to put on both cars and really good when towing, wont be useing a rope again!."

"Works like a dream, goes together easily very easy to use even if your a novice, i would recommend to anyone and with the damping spring you could be towing someone with zero I.Q. and still not have to worry about damage to any cars.......am glad a bought it very useful piece of equipment also tow pole is very durable and is made very well for the small price i paid, definitely great value for money.............keep it up halfords :)

"The Towing Pole may have been able to do its job as described if it something stronger than the little pins that hold the pieces together. one snapped after towing 100yds had to replace them with nuts and bolts.

"a step forward from a tow line. after a couple of dodgy corner's my wife got the knack of actually following the car in front. saved a fortune in an emergency situation, much cheaper than calling out the tow truck. if i only use it once, it was still worth the purchase price."

"Got this as I needed to tow a car qucikly. Easy to assemble , and I towed a Vauxhall van for approx 15 miles with no problem at all. Easier than a rope as no slack to take up. Comes in a nice carrying bag."

"Easy to use, towed my son 20 miles with no problems.The last time I towed anyone i was with a rope, allways snatching fear of breaking the rope. The only fault as such is the tow sign should be magnatised so it can stick ro the car etc being towed."
