"When I collected the oil, it was Castrol Edge 0-30w Oil, ie not Turbo Diesel. The salesman said it made no difference, but couldn't confirm whether it was the right oil fro my 2002 BMW E39 530d. I contacted Castrol who said that they are dropping the Turbo Diesel tag from their oils, and that this oil was recommended for my car."

Pros: excellent cold starting properties
Cons: no longer in production, more expensive than mobil 1
"Excellent product which I have used in several of my Diesel BMW's for mileage related servicing (BMW Longlife 04 is a stipulation) to maintain warranty & in my wife's diesel Toyota Rav 4 annual/mileage related servicing. Shame then that Castrol have decided to withraw this from production & to replace it with( in my opinion) an inferior product 5 - 40 w which does not have the 0 - 30 cold starting properties our cars require during winter months especially as both cars are parked outside on the north side of our house which has no sun on it between end October & end March. So come on Castrol starting making it again & of course reduce the price at the same time."

Cons: expensive
"excellent oil and does what it says.My car really drives more quieter and the engine feels so much smoother and responsive.I think a good quality oil does make a lot of difference"

"Been using this on a VW 1.9 PD engine and no issues with over 100k miles on the clock, engine sounds like new and mpg is spot on"
