Pros: reliable positive action, easy to undo
Cons: worthless instructions
"Bought this to secure a boat to my trailer, so performance is critical.
Quality is good, and while its a little on the expensive side, it performs really well, and i can be assured of the load rating!
Its easy to operate, and importantly easy to release under load. Instructions are poor so someone new to these things may struggle to operate at first.
The electro plating also looks like it will last well exposed to UK weather, but time will tell!"

"I had a difficult problem caused by the extremely wet and windy summer of 2009. I have a set of patio furniture which sits on a penthouse terrace. This was supplied with a waterproof "tarpaulin" cover which was too loose to not blow away in ever moderately windy weather. Spotted this item on the Halfords website, and I am extremely impressed. The ratchet mechanism allows the cover to be gathered snugly around the base of the furniture - problem solved!
Only minor quibble is that the schematic diagram explaining the working of the ratchet/buckle is too small and hard to read. However was able to work out use it after a bit of trial and error."
