"We needed a good sound source for the motorhome to replace a poor example. Read the reviews and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome: east fitting, good range of inputs, clear on FM as well as DAB, rock solid CD playing, and takes auxiliary input from the smart phone. Would have paid a few bob more for Bluetooth connectivity but it is not the end of the world...Happily cruising to MP3s from CD and phone, and catching the traffic news as we go!
Buttons and screen fairly intuitive, thanks."

Pros: great product which was easy to install, oredering online and instore pickup
"I was looking for a new car CD/MP3/ player but really wanted DAB radio as well as I am fed up with trying to listen to sport on Long Wave! This head unit was easy to fit with great sound quality and the DAB radio is fantastic.
I ordered online and collected from the store the following day which was easy, with no problems. The staff instore were helpful, and gave me the option of having it fitted.
The price of the device makes it a fantastic bargain!"

"Was originally looking at a cheaper unit, but got this one in the half-price (actually rather better than half-price on this one!) sale.
Fitted easily enough, set-up fairly straight-forward, sounds good, controls the iPod well, and found my favourite stations easily on FM and DAB - whereas the one that came with the car couldn't pick up my favourite local station on FM.
The variable shades and intensity available on the display is great - I've got it set to an unobtrusive purple that I can see just fine without it lighting up the car. One unit I had in a previous car had bright blue LEDs that reflected in the windows, I ended up sticking tape over it, no need for that here.
Haven't tried the CD player or connecting anything but the iPod by USB yet, but there's 4" of snow out there so that can wait until my trip to work Monday.
So far as I can see, the only down-side is the magnetic aerial that makes it look a bit like I might be a taxi. :)"

"I had a DAB unit which used your in situ car radio. It was forever fading and losing signal. This Phillips supplied with aerial is absolutely fantastic. I know it depends on what signal is available, but a combination of great advice from Lex and the expert fitting from the Herne Bay store, has greatly enhanced my DAB listening pleasure. The radio itself is fairly easy to navigate and has a multi colour screen choice which can blend in with your dash or suit your mood. Plenty of programmable stations and crystal clear. What a joy to listen to the cricket or other sport without the usual poor reception. Take your time to get to know your system to get the maximum enjoyment, it will pay dividends. Oh yeah, it plays CD's as well! What more can you ask for the money?"

"I was impressed with my friends Philips DAB unit and finally got round to having the money to buy one, and glad I waited as this higher spec unit was on offer at the same previous price as my friends lower spec DAB Radio. Bit of a hassle to fit, but this was more to do with the previous owner fitting a double din unit in my VW and trying to get it hooked up to my amp and bass box. So far been great, hid the DAB aerial in the boot and no major issues, just drops out know and again when in remote places. Great value and a massive selection of stations for any tastes!"

"Purchased this for two main reasons: playing music through iPod/iPhone etc and to have a better reception for MW radio channels. Overall I am very pleased with the product. The iPod connection and playback is superb and DAB radio is brilliant. Sadly there are some channels on the DAB radio that still lose connection but this is my only criticism and actually not really the fault of the product."

"I appear to be the only Ford Focus owner in the South of England who has had the DAB problems I have experienced. In the end, after three other units, I bought this unit as it was heavily discounted online and was, therefore, the same price as a non-DAB unit. So, I get the features(most notably the iPod facility) and when the DAB works, I get that too! The features of this machine are very good, the quality of the sound is excellent and the variety of the settings allows you to personalize things. Very good unit, and I hope that if the DAB signal improves, I can use it fully!"

"Good product, no problem with reception. Buttons are a bit light and difficult to feel when they've been pushed. On some buttons the size of the text and lack of contrast between the text and the button itself makes them difficult to read in some lighting conditions. Reasonably easy to programme and use.
Good value - no extra bits needed.
Excellent fitting service from Halfords. Would have liked option of having a single FM/DAB aerial as the secondary DAB aerial I've had fitted looks like a bit of an add-on."

"I bought this around 6 months ago, the big problem is that i tune in stations and within a couple of days the memory has been wiped, which is very frustrating when you have tuned in 15 different dab stations, very frustrating indeed so cannot recommend this product, having looked online this seems to be a recurring theme. BTW the staff at Halfords Bromborough were extremely helpful and professional just shame about the product"

"I purchased Philips dab car stereo ,and had it installed by Halfords,I'd definitely recommend Halfords installation ,Dave in the Liverpool Edge Lane branch was excellent,an awkward installation,as previous stereo bolted in from behind,looks good in 2004 Hyundai Coupe,improved cd sound,but found it a little difficult to tune in,dab works great ,most of the time.Signal does break up in built up areas sometimes.

"I can only praise this fantasic machine. Being a bit of a technophobe the ins and outs of DAB technology are a foreign language but I know what I like and this is high on the list - easy to use, fantasic sound, easy pre-sets so my channel choices can be changed at the appropriate times of the day and didn't have to get my 7 year old to programme it for me."

"I had this stereo fitted in my 2003 mini cooper by Halfords Salisbury on the 4/12/2011 and what a great service they provided all I can say is perfect perfect perfect. The stereo works with no issues looks great really enjoying DAB radio plus you can change the colour to match your dash great sound lots of functions to personalise it. Great product"
