"I thought I'd buy this to get my van started and to use for camping trips. Unfortunately, once on caharge, it indicated that it was fully charged after 3 hours, I left it on overnight and into the next day but it did not have anything like the power it should have had. It did not start my van; got my money back. Wouldn't recommend."

"First thing that surprised me was that it was fully charged after 10 mins (despite it saying that it needed a 36 hour initial charge) so I was unsure whether there was something wrong with it. Decided to try pumping up a tyre to check whether it was really fully charged and in flicking the lever to fix the inflator connector on to the valve it fell apart into three pieces. So back to the shop for a refund. What a complete waste of time."

Pros: jumps a 1000cc v-twin italian superbike with ease, pumps up its tyres as well, handy 240v inverter, useful built-in lamp with two brightness settings.
Cons: supplied jump leads are too short, supplied charger may have longevity issues.
"I bought one of these two years ago to help get my Italian V-twin motorcycle started as it lives in a remote garage with no power... and the bike's alarm likes to eat the battery over the course of a couple of days if it's not used regularly. For that task, it's been brilliant. It's ability to inflate tyres and light up a pitch black garage is a bonus too. I've even used it on my car on rare occasions (a big engined German)... and even on that, it has performed superbly.
Downsides?
The supplied jump leads are simply too short. Although I do understand the technical reasons why, for many users it will just be regarded as a bit of a nuisance... because basically, to be able to use this device practically, it'll require you to (no doubt, precariously) balance the whole unit on something (most likely the engine) quite near the battery you're trying to help.
And the supplied charger may (in some cases) have longevity issues. My one failed after a little over a year. Sourcing a replacement - I quickly discovered - was a task that was seemingly beyond the capability of the staff at my local Halfords... and equally beyond a reasonably concentrated 'Google' search as well (but then again... I was never ever really any good at that 'world wide web internet searching thing! I'm sure a replacment's out there somewhere...!). My workaround for the dead charger is undo the four screws that hold the compressor on and you get complete access to the internal battery... which I then just hook up to an 'Optimate' battery charger. Not ideal... but it works for me.
All in all, recommended."

"A good product that does what it says. Unfortunately I and some other customers have found the charger for the Power Pack has stopped working and it seems very difficult to get a replacement. We were told that replacement part L4D 135050R is available, but, site search turns up nothing so am stuck with a good Power Pack that can't be charged."

"Delivery was very prompt - specs how to charge the battery should have had some illustrations, as I'm not very tecnical minded, my mechanic told me it was a good power pack - i haven't tried it jet as I have had no problems with my batteries - will keep you posted. So far so good!!!!"

Pros: power when you need it
"Being faced with our car that would not start due to low battery level we attempted to push start the vehicle but this did not work. Borrowed one of these products (power pack 100) connected it to the battery terminals and the car started first time.
Decided there and then to have one of these products at hand for myself so purchased the power pack 200 with the extra features (lamps and inverter supply socket outlet). Really worthwhile to have available in Emergencies. Havn't needed the compressor yet (have a separate one) but it is good to have all needs at hand in one package."

"i bought mine nearly 3 years ago and its still going strong, the pump to blow tyres up didn't last long, 90% of the time it has started cars but if your battery is to flat it won't, also i have used my tom tom and other gadgets which has been very useful. the light is good (very bright) . so long as you read the instructions and do exactly what it says to look after this unit you will get your monies worth from it and most of the time it will get you out of trouble and help you"

"Have been using one of these as a back up to leisure battery on campervan. Watch television, occasional electric razor use, laptop, emergency phone charging whilst away. Usually lasts for about 5 days with about one hour TV per day. Fits under seat and can be used flat, manufacturer gives knowledgeable and helpful advice if anything is not clear.
Have used at home for pumping tyres, bit long winded for that.
Very happy with it."

"I bought this purely to replace my Halfords power pack 100 which I use to power my telescope mounting, which needs and uses a lot of power.
Normally the 100 would be almost flat after a full nights observing but the 200 barely lost any charge - with a green light still showing at the end of the night."

Found out to my cost when had a flat tyre would not reach!
On also checking the jump lead cables they to are way short and joined together, so I had to get a knife and slice down the lead to make them wide enough for the battery

"Bought this so I could keep my motorbike battery topped up occasionally. The inverter and 240V output allow me to use my Optimate to keep the battery in good condition. A practical solution to having no power supply where I store my bike."
