Pros: stylish, excellent value for money
"Having a couple of classic cars, and the MOT due I had to purchase a new Battery Clamp as the wing nut had worked loose and got lost. Having trawled the internet Halfords was 1/2 the price of ebay etc at normal price.
So took it home offered it up, slighty oversized so use tap and die set to extent thread and hey presto battery safely secured looks good and MOT passed.

"The clamp shown on the webpage has fixing holes along it's length (meccano style) which is great, however the one I bought in the shop had only three holes at each end and since the clamp was about 5 inches too long I had to cut the end with the holes off and drill a new fixing hole.
A bigger problem was that the thread on the rods was too short, which is a bit silly, since it would cost nothing for the manufacturer to cut the thread a bit longer down the rod to accomodate different battery sizes. If the rod is too long it's easy to cut the rod down to size, but if the thread stops short how do you tighten the wing nut unless you can get your hands on a tap & die set or use some spacers (not ideal). In my case I found a spare aperture lower down below the battery tray to hook into.
In summary the basic quality is fine, and I don’t mind a little work to adapt and fit but a little common sense on the design side would save a lot of bother.
Trouble is that nowadays common sense isn't very common ."
