"I recently went on the first family camping trip. We bought the roof box to give us more space in the car. What I was impressed with was just how much gear I managed to get it in - the four-person tent, four sleeping bags, a stove, four fold-away chairs and a fold-away table, plus other bits and bobs. It looks good on the black car too!"

"I bought thjis for 1/2 price on the web and picked it up. I had to fit it straight to the roofbars in the car park as it was too big for the boot. It was pretty simple and took less than 10 mins for a first time fit. You do need a small step ladder to reach over and fit the sucuring system as the box onloy opens one way. We got 90% of our gear into this for a family of 4 (2 teens) and a big dog that takes up 80% of the boot! The box didn't shift or move and not too much wind noise either."

Pros: minimum wind resistance and noise when fitted
Cons: its pretty expensive at full price
"we bought this roof box when it was on a half price special offer and i'm not sure I would have bought it at full price. However, there's plenty of room and it doesnt seem to provide too much resistance or noise when in use. We had it fitted by Halfords which was really easy and the manager advised us to remove both the bars and the roof box at the same time when not required in order to make easier fitting. This seemed to be a problem for other reviewers but thiis method seemed to provide a solution."

Cons: tricky to assemble, lock may prove a bit flimsy over time
"The box is well made and has plenty of room (we are a family of 5). You will definitely need two people to put this box on as you cannot reach inside the box to hold the bolts in when putting it on. Tog et the most out of the space I would reccomend soft bags to fit into every corner. All in all a good buy if you can get it in the sales!"

"This roof box looks as good as one can and also performs well. I have only used it once but found it very easy to lock and it has enough space inside for my needs. You do need to think about what you put in and where as the sides slope and so there is less height at the front.
The fixing that hold it to the roof bars work well, but stick up along way inside the box."

"I purchased this particular roof box as it was the right volume and not too long.
I decided to get Halfords staff to fit the box onto the roof bars of my Picasso C3 for me and I am pleased I did.
I had taken a set of kitchen steps with me as I knew the height of the car roof would present a problem. However the real problem was that half of the 'quick fit' fittings simply would not fit together due to poor quality control by the makers.
The Halfords staff were very helpful and fittings that worked correctly were found in another unit, but half of those would also not work correctly.
My tip if buying any of this range is to try joining the fittings (U bolt and clamp) together before you leave the car park and reject any that do not slid together easily.
Without the box the Thurle square roofbars whistle at speeds over 30mph. With the box fitted there was no noise at all.
Lastly the lock can sometimes be a little sticky but should cause no problem if you adjust the load."

"Nice looking, good size- able to fit 2 adults and 2 small kits holiday clothes and associated baby and toddler stuff in with ease.

Pros: looks good and sits well on car(vauxhall insignia), big capacity., handles wind well even at high speeds., quick release clamps makes it easier to remove box
Cons: difficult to fit man alone. needs two people
"This is a good size box for a family of 4/5 and on my recent trip to Germany it freed up the car inside and we were 4 adults going away for 2 weeks, so we had quite allot of baggage. The box did make wind noise but that is inevitable considering the size of it. It did however handle the wind resistance very well and at times I was cruising at 100mph on the autobahn and I could not feel that I had a box on the roof.
The downside to this box is to fit it on the car was a struggle as the lid opens side ways and to secure the clamps you have to get on top of the roof inside the box and secure them, because you cannot get to the clamps from the drivers side as the lid`s hinges is on that side and blocks you from getting to it."

"Bought this roof box last year for a camping holiday.Looks smart in the black and matches my car. Have had real probs attaching to roof bars, takes two people, and the locking mechanisim bars are hard to reach where the box opens on hinged side, my daughter had to literally climb on to the top to attache.The box is a bit flimsy and when the box is full hard to actually lock it, but overall a good purchase, does hold a lot of camping gear which is great when four people in car."
